Bobby began writing “It’s Too Late” onstage during a break in an “American Bandstand” television appearance. “Baby’s Gone” was one of the few songs that Bobby and Roy Orbison were able to write together. Despite a great collaborative nature between the two songwriters, their music publishing rights were owned by separate companies.  Legal issues prevented the two from further creations. The “Blue Autumn” recording featured here is a completely different recording from the single featured on the 1966 “Blue Autumn” album.
Many days I tried to call you, many nights I spent alone Everyone knew that I loved you but you had a love of your own Well, now that he’s gone you think you can come back to me But I’m not the same fool that I used to be And you’re gonna see, that - “It’s Too Late” If all of the joy deep inside me were gold Then my friend, I would not have a dime If you felt the hurt that I feel deep inside You would hurt ‘til the end of your time - “Nothin’s Bad as Bein’ Lonely”
A funny photograph that made the gang all laugh, Two tickets torn in half are only reminders A ribbon from her hair, her little teddy bear, They’re just waiting there for me to find her - “Baby’s Gone” Well, little girl, I’ve said it, so I’ll leave you I thought it better to tell you than to deceive you You’ll find another guy someday You never really loved me anyway And little girl, I just don’t love you anymore - “I Just Don’t Love You Anymore”
